Life can feel like a samba going full pelt, teetering at every twist and turn, but never toppling. This is the feeling that drove Brazilian singer, Luna Cohen, to record her new EP, ‘Samba que balança não cai’ (“Samba that sways never stops”). On stage, Cohen really comes out swinging, reanimating old songs with new energy. This is samba and bossa nova at their best, spiked with jazz and delivered with zeal. Her band – among the best in the UK’s Anglo-Brazilian scene – weave beneath captivating melodies in smooth, sultry phrasing, combining deft musicianship with danceable rhythms. If you've not felt that exhilarating mix of emotions in a while, maybe it's time you give yourself up to the music? As life gets back up to speed, turn up the dial for the launch of Luna Cohen and the band's EP ‘Samba que balança não cai’.
