"Lydia Garrow is a bit of an enigma, she has a refreshingly clear, sparkly kind of voice that lends itself to a wide range of material, from up-tempo Cole Porter, deeply moving ballads and catchy Latin numbers... a mature and engaging British artist"

Jazzwise Magazine

Lydia Garrow has been singing since she was a young child. Surrounded by a very musical heritage, her grandfather, father and sister are all musicians and singers, you could say that Lydia was destined to follow suit. Her talent was obvious from a young age and Lydia was trained from the age of 14 by Arwel Morgan and then Dr. Eric Von Ibler, head of Lieder at The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.

An early introduction, as a young child, to the great female jazz vocalists such as Sarah Vaughan, Billy Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald as well as contemporary singers such as Stacey Kent and Madeleine Peyroux ignited Lydia’s passion for Jazz. Singing professionally from the age of 17 Lydia has gone on to perform at many events around the world.

Lydia’s voice has a versatility that leads itself to the translucent beauty Irish folk songs (from where her family hail) as well as the silky sounds of jazz.

Lydia has been fortunate enough to be surrounded by world class musicians. Her first album was recorded in 2011 with John Crawford (piano), Lydian Dhami (bass) and Chris Nickolls (drums). Her second album "Little Bird" is out now. Produced by Terry Collie, also on piano, Richard Sadler on Bass, Chris Nickolls on drums and Guille Hill on guitar.
