Ma'Grass is a 7-piece band created by Italian multi-instrumentalist and music producer Matteo Grassi who collaborated with artists in the UK and European including Gizelle Smith, CuriosityKilledTheCat, Aurora Dawn (singer of Alabama Three) and many more. Ma’Grass is a cocktail of jazzy, afro, funky-rock and latin sounds. Their debut album, 'Fingers in the Socket' was released in March 2013 and featured in compilations released worldwide and very soon they will launch their first EP of a series of three: 'Soul Fire'. If you are a lover of groovy bass lines, atomic horn sessions and powerful heart-felt vocals, this is the gig to go to!

Ma'Grass is an idea born from the mind of Italian multi-instrumentalist and music producer Matteo Grassi UK based since 2006.
His aim is to make a difference in people’s life by bringing fun, joy and upliging rythms and melodies through his music and performances.

This lover of the 70’s era drew his inspiration from Parliament Funkadelic, Bootsy Collins, Larry Graham, Sly and the Family Stone, Curtis Mayfield. His many collaborations include many artists from different horizons, active in the UK and European scenes including Gizelle Smith (J alapeno Records), Curisity Killed The Cat (R CA Records), Aurora Dawn (singer of Alabama Three, Columbia/SME Records), etc.

In 2007, London and its exciting multicultural flavours and ryhthms stimulated his creatvity, giving birth to new songs, mainly based on Old School Funk vibe. Matteo Grassi along with dedicated musicians and friends created an eclectic mix of Jazzy, Afro, Funky, Latino, Ragga and Rock. Their music quickly became a cocktail of Western Culture music with a touch of Afro and Latin-Americano sounds.

Ma’Grass has had the privilege to gig all over London and throughout Europe, in France “Plein Feux Festival” opening for Ben l’Oncle Soul (2014), Italy and Germany. Within the past 3 years they showcased in venues such as Passing Clouds, Hackney Picture House, Kensington Roof Gardens, Ritzy and many more.

Among their public appearances they count stages shared with artists like Tony Momrelle ( Incognito), Zion Train, Stormzy, Peter Andre, The Boom Yeh etc.
