When Martin Taylor, who has collaborated with singers including Peggy Lee, Jamie Cullum, Dionne Warwick and Bryn Terfel, decided to record an intimate duo album with a vocalist he chose Scottish-Canadian jazz singer Alison Burns. Their first duo album 1:AM took its inspiration from the Grammy award winning collaboration between Joe Pass & Ella Fitzgerald, mixing repertoire from The Great American Songbook and contemporary material. This Pizza Express Jazz Club show will debut music from their forthcoming album which is a collection of songs celebrating the energy and creativity of the Roaring 20s.

Martin Taylor is widely considered to be the world’s foremost exponent of solo jazz and fingerstyle guitar playing. He dazzles audiences with a signature style that artfully combines his virtuosity, emotion and humour with a strong, engaging stage presence. In addition to his solo concerts and recordings, he has also collaborated with musicians from many different musical genres, including Jeff Beck, Bill Wyman, Stephane Grappelli, David Grisman, and George Harrison.
