Michael Dore returns to The Pheasantry after his many sell out performances. Michael, star of BBC Radio 2, has sung at the world's most iconic venues including Carnegie Hall, the Sydney Opera House and the Royal Albert Hall, often with many of the world's leading orchestras. Tonight he celebrates the music of his favourite singers including Barry Manilow, Michael Buble, Bing Crosby and Barbra Streisand and performs favourite Christmas songs. With Musical director JOHN G SMITH, MD for Elaine Paige & shows including 'Hamilton' & 'Tina'.

Michael Dore was born in Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire.

His international career began with the Swingle Singers. Since then he has toured throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia and South Africa. He has performed with many of the world’s leading orchestras including the Berlin & New York Philharmonics, Orchestre National de Lyon, Norwegian Radio Orchestra, MDR Symphonie (Leipzig) , RTE Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte Carlo & the Symphony Orchestras of Chicago, Boston, St Louis, Bochum and Bangkok.

Michael regularly appears on BBC Radio 2’s ‘Friday Night is Music Night’ and in cabaret at London’s Pheasantry & The Crazy Coqs.

Michael’s work with the Variety Club has included co-hosting and performing for the Iowa Live Telethon in the USA and his own concert in Johannesburg, South Africa.

His recordings include  Steve Mackey’s Grammy award winning ‘Dreamhouse’, three recordings of Berio’s ‘Sinfonia’, the original London cast recording of Sondheim’s ‘Passion’, four albums with the BBC Concert Orchestra and four with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO), including his recent release “Stage by Stage”.

Theatre roles have included ‘West Side Story’ with Sir Simon Rattle, ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’, ‘Guys & Dolls’ and ‘Candide’. He has sung duets with many leading ladies, including Sarah Brightman, Lorna Luft and Dame Diana Rigg & has sung on around 200 film soundtracks, including Lord of the Rings, Star Wars & Skyfall.

Extensive work with the RPO includes regular appearances at the Royal Albert Hall, opening London’s Cadogan Hall & “Food of Love” (the Shakespeare music of Nigel Hess) alongside Dame Judi Dench, Sir Patrick Stewart, Robert Lindsay, Zoe Wanamaker & Gemma Arterton. He has worked closely with leading contemporary composers and conductors, including Luciano Berio and Steve Reich.

As a vocal coach he has worked with film actors including Taron Egerton (for his films ‘Sing’ & his latest, ‘Rocketman’ ) & Emma Watson (on Beauty & The Beast) and coached on the TV series’ ‘Any Dream Will Do’ & The X Factor. He was also vocal consultant for Dame Vera Lynn’s 100th birthday TV documentary and has conducted vocal workshops and masterclasses in Europe, South Africa and North America.
