Last Show: Wednesday 21 st July 2021

PizzaExpress Live (Holborn)

A two-day intimate indoor festival celebrating the best of Country music from both the UK and USA. Jake Morrell could have come straight out of Nashville, or even from the Californian sunshine, as his music suggests; but Jake is from Norfolk, England! Jake will be joined by Chantelle Padden, Bailey Tomkinson and Matt Hodges. Hosted by Matt Spracklen, Absolute Radio Country presenter.

"It’s great to see Jake Morrell flying the flag for British Country"

Dermot O’Leary, BBC Radio 2

JAKE MORRELL

JAKE MORRELL has just been voted ‘Best UK Male Artist’ by the UK Country Spotlight Awards. Hearing Jake’s new single, ‘THIS HOUSE’, provides a timely indication of why. It is a beautifully written, produced and sung tribute to growing up in his own family home, but also an appreciation of the sanctuary that one’s home can be – and possibly has been for many over the past year in lockdown.

Jake was discovered by Dermot O’Leary, and has built up a devoted following via his irresistible string of instantly memorable singles, and his joyous live shows. He and his energetically harmonious band have been a favourite at all the big Country festivals, notably becoming a regular at the 02’s Country2Country where he has shown that a home-grown Brit can also deliver what the best of Nashville brings – great songs, a warm and evocative voice – but unmistakeably a Brit. As Jake says in one of his most defining songs, ‘I’m just an Englishman Trying To Write a Country Song’.

BAILEY TOMKINSON

Recently featured in The Metro, The Times, The Daily Mail, Hello! and on BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, Bailey Tomkinson’s mix of pop-country hooks and relatable emotional storytelling has earned her comparisons with “an early Taylor Swift and Emmylou Harris”.

A singer-songwriter from St Ives, Cornwall, Bailey is part of the new wave of British Country influenced artists. Her cross-over appeal recently saw her land a #1 hit on the UK all-genre iTunes Music Video Charts outselling Miley Cyrus and Kylie Minogue. Her latest single also entered the iTunes country charts at #1.
