Natalie Douglas, acclaimed vocalist, returns to The Pheasantry with her hit show “Ella Fitzgerald…The First Lady of Song” to celebrate the life and achievements of the ‘Queen of Jazz’, performing some classic Fitzgerald songs.

Natalie Douglas - the acclaimed vocalist hailed as “a true, true star” by BBC London Radio, “a true force of nature” by The Times (UK), “sensational” by Time Out New York, “a monstrous talent” by Next Magazine and “simply everything” by The Daily News, - returns to her UK perch at The Pheasantry as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival 2022, with her hit tribute show - “ELLA FITZGERALD…THE FIRST LADY OF SONG".

“ELLA…THE FIRST LADY OF SONG,” celebrates the artistry, brilliance & singular achievements of the sublime & beloved “Queen of Jazz” Ella Fitzgerald. On the occasion of the Ella show’s SRO debut, Brian Lipton of Theater Pizzaz described it as, “…an evening of musical bliss” and prophetically wrote, “As for me, I’m living for the hope she’ll do this spectacular show again.” Join Natalie & her music director, Jon Weber (NPR’s Piano Jazz) as they turn their considerable talents to Fitzgerald’s long & storied career with this popular concert including classic Fitzgerald songs such as, “Too Darn Hot,” “A-Tisket, ATasket,” “Love For Sale” and “Something To Live For.”

Natalie Douglas is a thirteen-time MAC, two-time Backstage Bistro, Nightlife Award Winner, Margaret Whiting Award & Donald F. Smith Award Winner - the latter two presented by the Mabel Mercer Foundation, for which Natalie is the Education Director. She is also a Master Teacher for MMF, the Jim & Elizabeth Sullivan Foundation, the Cayman Arts Festival & the Eugene O’Neill Cabaret & Performance Conference. She has appeared at Carnegie Hall, Rose Theatre and The Appel Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Town Hall, among other venues in the USA & around the world.

Natalie has also produced over 75 concerts at her NYC musical home, Birdland Jazz Club, where her portrait hangs on the legendary Birdland Wall of Fame. Her latest series — her smash Birdland residency - TRIBUTES has included celebrations of Roberta Flack, Joni Mitchell, Linda Ronstadt, Nina Simone, Elvis Presley, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat “King” Cole, Barbra Streisand, Nancy Wilson, Judy Garland, James Taylor & Cher, while earning her three MAC awards for Major Artist, Celebrity Artist & Show of The Year.
