PizzaExpress Live in partnership with the Hampstead Jazz Club in association with The Soul Of London Radio, proudly presents keyboardist, vocalist, and producer Nathan Mitchell. Nathan burst on to the USA scene as a celebrated keyboardist and producer for many award-winning artists. He received great recognition touring with award-winning guitarist Nick Colionne Irene Cara, and Grammy nominated saxophonist Najee. Nathan has released six albums since 2014 which have credited eleven top 30 Billboard songs with two #1 Hits. He received three consecutive NAACP Image Award Nominations (2020, 2021, and 2022) for three of the six albums released. In addition, Nathan has been nominated for a Grammy award as a producer/musician, as well as, the 2017 Smooth Jazz Breakout Artist of the Year nominee. The evening will be hosted by DJ Jerry Bascombe a renowned broadcaster over many years and MD of The Soul of London Radio, with a special guest Ryan La Valette.

Nathan’s performances carry a wide range of musical lush from deep funk, classical etudes, to passionate ballads. His energetic stage presence has earned him the name of “The Entertainer” amongst his fans and followers. His performance carries a combination of stimulating original contemporary jazz selections) combined with some of your favourite selections from Donny Hathaway, Chuck Brown, and Maxell.

Nathan debuted his musical presence with his 2017 release with two hit singles “Inspiration” featuring Blake Aaron and “Smooth Groove”. Both landed on US Billboard Charts as top 30 hits. One of his greatest achievements was the completion of Nathan’s first NAACP Image Award Nominated album entitled, “Soul Mate” which made its debut September 4, 2019. This album was a dedication to Nathan’s wife who passed of cancer in 2010. The success of this project was already deemed to be a success with the acceptance of the first two singles hitting mainstream media globally entitled “Swing City” which made great strides as a top 10 hit on the BILLBOARD charts and Smooth Jazz Network Charts, in addition to securing his first #1 on the Mediabase Smooth Jazz charts. In addition to touring Nathan is very active as an advocate for musicians and creators’ rights in the US. He also is an educator holding a Bachelor of Music from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, Master of Music Arts from VCU in Richmond, Virginia, and currently working on a Masters in Music Business from Berklee School of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.

Ryan La Valette

Bringing an explosive energy as a triple threat musician and artist, New Zealand bred and based guitarist, saxophonist and bassist Ryan La Valette will unleash his multitude of melodic and soul-grooving talents joining as special guest.

A Billboard #1 recording artist, his lifelong passion for the music and style of George Benson – whose classic tune “This Masquerade” he first heard around age five when his mother played it in the house – La Valette considers himself primarily a guitar player. Yet the title and cover image of his 2020 independently released EP Dimensions of Me say it all – almost! – about his many modes of musical expression.
