The Neil Angilley Trio consists of Neil Angilley (piano/vocals), Davide Giovannini (drums/vocals) and Davide Mantovani (bass/vocals). Their live show is spellbinding, impressing with not only their instrumental virtuosity, but also their 3-part vocal harmony, which adds a unique dimension to the sound of this trio. Their live show brings a unique take on infectious rhythms from Brazil and Cuba to the audience. They have released 4 albums - Yambou,The Lake District, Havana Club & Chango. They work regularly in the London Jazz scene and across the U.K. performing at Ronnie Scott’s, The Stables, 606 Club etc. During a recent tour in Italy they appeared at ‘Trieste Loves Jazz’ -International Jazz Festival This is a chance to hear the trio perform new material from their latest album, Yambou, released in 2021.

The trio have worked regularly in the London Jazz scene and across the U.K. In the last year the trio have performed at ‘ The International Jazz Festival' in Trieste, Italy during a tour and many festivals such as Herts Jazz Festival & Rye Int. Jazz Fest. Also appearing at clubs such as Ronnie Scott’s, The Stables, 606 Club, Swansea Jazz club, The Hideaway and many more.

Their live show is spellbinding, not only impressing you with their instrumental virtuosity but also singing in 3 part harmony which adds a unique dimension to the wall of sound only created by this trio. In their current show they play highlights from their Lake District album followed by their unique take on Latin Jazz bringing you infectious rhythms from Brazil and Cuba.

In 2007 the Neil Angilley Trio recorded their 1st album, 'Havana Club' - “ Neil Angilley has long been one the UK’s best - kept secrets in the Jazz world. The Neil Angilley Trio debut album – Havana Club is nothing short of spectacular, reminiscent, at times of the great works of Michel Camillo and Chick Corea, this brazillian - fusion trio album is world class and is a very fulfilling listen. I won’t highlight any particular title on the album as they’re all great, so, as I say: just take a moment to check it out. “Blues & Soul Magazine Their 2nd recording is 'Chango' and is a tribute to the people of Yoruba. It is the music, spirit, culture and their God, Chango, that was the inspiration for making this album. The album was voted best album by French Magazine - Mundo Latino.

Composed by Neil Angilley, the trio have just released a new recording called ‘The Lake District' . It is a Symphonic Work for Piano, Electric Bass & Drums which is an eclectic mix of Jazz & Classical music. The piece is written in 9 movements which are a musical description of the beautiful Lake District in England. The work is a dedication to children’s author and conservationist Beatrix Potter who owned and donated a lot of the land to the National trust. The composition draws on influences from great British classical composers such as Elgar & Vaughan Williams.

An original member of Grammy Nominated band - Down To The Bone, Neil co wrote and played on many no1 albums. Most recently ‘The Sweetness’ which he co-wrote with producer Stuart Wade charted at no1 in the USA Billboard Charts for Jazz/Funk.

Neil has also appeared as a guest soloist on various albums including 'An Ordinary Day in an Unusual Place' - US3, 'Fuzzy Logic' - David Benoit (GRP) and 'Crush' - Richard Elliot (Verve) As well as appearing on the main stage at Glastonbury with Dame Shirley Bassey, Neil has worked with many of the brightest in the industry, working as Musical Director for Vanessa - Mae (since 1997), performing with Maceo Parker, Roy Hargrove, Snowboy & the Latin Section, Lionel Richie & Lisa Stansfield, Three Friends (Gentle Giant) amongst many others.
