After receiving 1st prize at the Parisan Dante Agostini Drum School (teachers Nadia Touche, Gille Touche) in 1987, Olivier Le Goas began playing in a trio with guitarist Eric Lohrer and bassist Laurent Camuzat, with whom he won 2nd prize in 1988 Won the Orchestra's Prize at the Defense Jazz Competition, toured extensively and recorded two albums (Eric Lohrer trio, Dans Le Bleu).
At the same time, he played and toured with : Big Band "Lumière" (Laurent Cugny), the double bass player Jean-Francois Jenny-Clark, the vibraphonist David Patrois, the pianist Benoit Delbecq, then with Mahori quartet with guitarist David Chevallier and the quintet of pianist Jean-Michel Pilc. In 1995 he took part in the jazz workshop at Banff Center (Canada), where he met the Canadian musician, trumpeter and composer Kenny Wheeler, with whom he recorded the album Sur Les Corps Des Klaxons 14 years later in London (UK), which was released on appeared on his own label Rewind Record ( RR1001). In 2003 he received a Lavoisier scholarship (French Ministry of Foreign Affairs / Egide) and went to NY City USA to study at the New School University (2003), with among others guitarist Rory Stuart, and drummers Jeff Ballard and Eric McPherson. During his stay he will play with Ben Monder, Jason Linder, Avishai Cohen (trp), Jacques Schwartz-Bart, Tim Lefevre, among others.
In the last fifteen years, Olivier Le Goas has released six albums as a leader : Gravitations on the Swiss record label Altrisuoni (AS204 - 2007), recorded with guitarist John Abercrombie, trumpeter Ralph Alessi and bassist Drew Gress at the famous Clinton Recording Studio in New York City. ; Trilog Seven Ways on the same label (AS260 -2009) recorded in Paris with guitarist Manu Codjia and saxophonist Vincent Mascart. In 2009, Olivier founded his own label Rewind Record, on which 2010 and 2013 Sur Les Corps Des Klaxons (RR1001), and Abstract (RR1002), a septet project feat. David Chevallier and Alban Darche, appearing.
In October 2015, Olivier brought Nir Felder, Kevin Hays and Phil Donkin to the legendary Bauer Studios in Ludwigsburg. Reciprocity contains 8 new strong original compositions that develop polyrhythmic structures from basic metric forms, offer a melodic and lyrical repertoire and was released on September 2nd, 2016 on the German record label Neuklang.
His new album On Ramp of Heaven Dreams, which was recorded in NYC USA in 2019 with Nir Felder, John Escreet and double bass player Larry Grenadier and released on Challenge Record International.
