Katerine Espinal, pianist from Nicaragua. Has lived in Norway since September 2018.

Katerine started playing classical piano when she was 7y.o at the Bautista Conservatory of Music in Nicaragua. When she was 15, she discovered the wonderful treasure of the traditional Latin American music, and from then on she decided to dedicate herself to the interpretation of Latin American folk music and popular music.

She was strongly inspired by the Argentine pianist Raúl Diblasio. At the same time, she began to get inspired by Cuban musicians to learn how to interpret this music that has connected her enormously with this culture in particular, Cuban musicians who have had a great rhythmic influence on her performances.
Since she was little she has had the habit of going to many concerts to see musicians of different nationalities playing live to be able to learn through them the particularities of different Latin American rhythms.

Currently she works for a municipality in Norway, as a pianist - music therapist for people with different abilities.
In Norway she has played with Big Bands, Cuban bands and Norwegian musicians, and for that reason this year she has received cultural support from Oslo Municipality to be able to offer concerts to different institutions in Oslo.

Katerine is learning Norwegian, and has just completed, online, a bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising and international business at her home university, and is currently studying Spanish as a foreign language online at the University of Salamanca, Spain.

This year she is carrying out the important project of recording her first album, an album that is being recorded in Madrid, Spain, supported by her music producer, the Panamanian musician and producer Billy Herron
