Partikel take unique and fresh look at the saxophone trio format, their exciting live performances lead them to being dubbed as "One of the hottest young bands on the UK scene" according to JazzWise. Over the past ten years the trio have forged a reputation as “one of the most exciting trios in improvised music” Jazz Podium. Throughout their career so far they have toured all around the world performing their music at venues and festivals such as Shanghai Jazz Festival, Vancouver Jazz Festival, Rochester Jazz Festival (New York), Cadogan Hall (London Jazz Festival) and tonight they will be launching their fifth album which celebrates the band’s 10^th year playing together.

Partikel have forged a reputation as one of the most forward looking groups to emerge on the European jazz scene. The nucleus of Partikel is made up of three London based musicians led by saxophonist Duncan Eagles, all from different musical backgrounds who have come together to combine their various favourite musical elements to create a very particular sound of their own. Their music puts an interesting twist on the standard jazz format, whilst still honouring the tradition of deep harmony and creative improvisation.Partikel’s latest album was released last year to great critical acclaim from both the UK and the European press; appearing on multiple ‘best jazz album’ lists of 2015 including the Telegraph, Marlbank, Robert Shore (JazzWise) and UK Vibe. They are due to release their new album next February and they will be performing the new material on this gig.
