Last Show: Tuesday 4 th September 2018

PizzaExpress Jazz Club (Soho)

Paul Ryan and the Kenny Clayton Trio present music from their new CD, Blame It On My Youth, recorded live at the Pheasantry last year and featuring such Great American Songbook classics as 'Someone to Watch over Me', 'Come Rain or Come Shine' and, of course, 'Blame it On My Youth'. Alongside songs from the album, expect many more selections from their vast repertoire all delivered with a jazz inflection and their trademark brand of irreverent humour. Paul was a favourite vocalist of the late jazz critic Jack Massarik while Kenny’s long career has seen him as musical director for such major stars as Petula Clark and Matt Monro. They are joined by Eric Guy on bass and Mike “Ozzie” Osborn on drums.

“Effortlessly stylish interpretations of the Great American Songbook…Ryan’s witty delivery is complemented by the quietly authentic genius of Clayton’s playing.”
