This August, triple Perrier Award nominee Dan Antopolski returns to stand-up, seven years after his seventh solo show. Okay, sevens; so what? I’ll tell you so what! Science has it that all the cells in your body regenerate over seven years so technically this is a completely new dude, reluctantly eligible for Best Newcomer. Do you believe in Chakras? Dan doesn’t, but he is aware that seven years is a cycle or something. Anyway, who has time to pay attention to spiritual change when the external changes are so colourful? Separation, death, inheritance, falling in love and watching his kids grow in height and cunning. These are Dan’s experiences and he’d love to share them with you. So here he is, with a brand new hour about change, pain, honour and gain. Oh and “dozens and dozens of well-honed jokes” (The Guardian), which is also important.
Charmain MC
Charmian has been doing her comedy since 1987 when she ran away from the circus to become a stand-up comic after breaking the vow of Mime Silence. She has played throughout the UK comedy Circuit, in the UK houses of parliament, and even in a top security prison. She has taken seven solo shows to the Edinburgh Festival, and in 2017 performed at the Dunedin, Auckland and New Zealand fringes. She has compered the Glastonbury Festival several times and is a Comedy Award Nominee.
