PizzaExpress Live is very proud to launch a new series of stand-up comedy shows in our Holborn venue. Performers are drawn from the very best UK club comedians - many of whom are award-winners. Each night will feature three performers. Whether you've come to see someone in particular or are just curious to see a comedy show, every one of the comedians we are presenting is hugely experienced and has sold out shows in their own right.

Pierre Novellie

Pierre Novellie is one of the bestup-and-coming comedians in the United Kingdom.  After a stint in the Cambridge Footlights in2012, Pierre was nominated fortheAmused Moose Comedy Award and Best Debutant for The Skinny Awards in2013, the year in which hewon the Amused Moose Laugh-Off. In2014hewas nominated for industry website Chortle’s Best Newcomer award. His 2015 Edinburgh show, Pierre Novellie isAnxious Peter, wasreceived wellby audiences and critics alike, with The Scotsman, Chortle, The List and Broadway Baby (among others) all giving it 4 stars, in2016Pierre NovellieisCool Peter also received a number of4 star reviews including fromThe Times and 5 stars fromThree Weeks and One4Review. 

Jacob Hawley

Jacob Hawley is one of the boldest new voices on the circuit, and is beginning to build a following after reaching the finals of the BBC New Comedy Award 2017. He has a self-aware, conversational style and delivers a hilariously introspective social commentary based on his small town suburban upbringing. He regularly performs at some of the biggest and best clubs in the country and has won King Gong at London͛s Comedy Store. At the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe Jacob performed a 40 minute work in progress show, Fruit Machine, to packed rooms and great acclaim, with one joke from the show being listed in the BBC͛s Top Ten Gag͛s from Edinburgh, and his eagerly awaited debut hour will premier at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2018.

Hayley Ellis (MC)


Manchester comedian and former regular contributor to XFM's breakfast show, Hayley Ellis has gone from strength to strength since she began performing in April 2009. A regular MC at gigs around the country, Hayley’s natural warmth and girl-next-door charm make her impossible to dislike, something which has become evident in her success in new act competitions throughout the UK. Hayley has also become a regular sight gag contributor for the Russell Howard’s Good News television programme (Avalon Television) and has appeared on MTV’s ͞Why aye love Geordie Shore͟ and ͞Comedy Set Lists͟ for Virgin television. She can also sometimes be heard on your wireless (Absolute Radio) and her sketches and jokes have appeared on Newsjack (Radio 4). Last summer, Hayley performed at the Edinburgh Festival with her second solo show "Fomo͟".
