Layla Assam

Layla Assam is an young artist emerging into the London scene with her deep expressive vocals - bringing an eclectic mix of neo-soul and traditional jazz. Trained at the BRIT School of Performing Arts, Layla is a unique and experienced vocalist/writer who fuses inspiration from a range of genres, from the sultry sounds of soul to the intricate melodies of bossa nova, and has performed at various acclaimed venues, such as the The Pheasantry and The Rose Theatre. 

Diane Slater

Diane has loved Jazz and swing music from an early age, preferring Billie Holiday to Duran Duran.  A supporter of the Ram Jam open mic sessions in Kingston, Diane has enjoyed singing with Phil Brown's Jazz band at Brentford's Brewery Tap. She has performed across London and the South East and  more recently performing sets at Barnes's OSO and The Gunnersbury.

Paulene Grimes 

Pauline's introduction to music was inspired by her Mother who was a Doris Day and Mario Lanza music and films fan. Her older brother discovered Jazz introducing Paulene to the vocal greats such as Peggy Lee,  Nina Simone, Sarah Vaughan,  Julie London, Tony Bennett and many more. 

She joined ‘The Covent Garden Singers’ and decided to expand her knowledge at Richmond Jazz College. She has performed at various gigs in and around London and is excited to be a part of the 2022 Platform4 showcase at the Pheasantry.
