For this special Steinway 2-Piano Festival evening show, we present four of the finest UK jazz pianists in a spectacular double bill.

Composer/pianist Robert Mitchell is a throwback to that powerful tradition of artistic mastery in pursuit of transcendence. he regularly works with the legendary Courtney Pine CBE, French saxophone great Julien Lourau, French sax innovator Stephane Payen, young saxophonist Tom Harrison, Cuban violinist Omar Puente, Miles Bould’s USONIC, Orphy Robinson’s All Stars, South African education, percussion and conflict resolution genius Eugene Skeef, and new free jazz/radical poetry group StagerLee Wonders.

Celebrated British jazz pianist Jason Rebello was labelled a veteran by critics at 19 and over the next decade won most of the major jazz music awards. Technique, diversity and adaptability have enabled Jason to work with artists across the musical spectrum such as Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Pee Wee Ellis, Joss Stone, Madeline Peyroux, Manu Katche and recently Charlene Soraia.

One of the UK’s leading young jazz pianists, Sarah Tandy, returns to PizzaExpress Jazz Club. She has performed with some of the biggest names in UK jazz including Jazz Jamaica, Gary Crosby, Clark Tracey and Gilad Atzmon, and is a member the Camilla George Quartet.

Ross Stanley is a pianist and organist who was born in 1982 in Frimley, England. Beginning piano at age 4, by a teenager, he was awarded an organ scholarship to Marlborough College. Upon leaving Marlborough, Ross was invited to study for his music degree at several renowned institutions including Trinity College of Music, Guildhall School of Music and a scholarship to Berklee College of Music in the USA. He decided to stay in London, however, and completed a BMUS in classical and jazz piano at Guildhall in 2004. Since leaving, Ross’s musical skills have kept him in high demand, seeing him play with jazz names such as Will Vinson, Dennis Rollins, Guy Barker, Joel Frahm, Liane Carroll, Stan Sulzman, Steve Arguelles, John Paracelli, Bobby Wellins, Clark Tracey, as well as being a regular member of the Jim Mullen Organ Trio, the Mark McKnight Organ Quartet and the Jacqui Dankworth band and performing in many small and large ensembles – Nostalgia 77 Octet, The Heritage Orchestra.
