The Simians of Swing are no ordinary jazz group; they are story tellers in the great comic book tradition. Each number on this album is a soundtrack to a hero or villain; some of the characters are good, most are bad … but all are legends with tales of revenge, tragedy and romance. Set in a post-apocalyptic world the Simians narrate their stories through the medium of jazz.

Led by secret agent/jazz trumpet player Andy Davies, and deadly assassin/jazz bass player Lorenzo Bassignani, the Simians of Swing bring their apocalyptic visions to jazz clubs/working mens clubs across the UK and beyond.

Inspired by their favourite Marvel, Vertigo and DC comic books the Simians have written a jazz soundtrack to create new original heroes and villains. Their stories will send shivers down your spine, from a Scottish ice hockey playing mutant fighting vampires, to an evil business tycoon who became the American president (oh... wait that actually happened!)

All the music is written and arranged by hard bopper Andy Davies (Ronnie Scotts All Stars) & Lorenzo Bassignani (US star Lindsey Webster). Their latest album, recorded at the iconic Konk Studios in London features beautiful songstress Sara Dowling (Simians of Swing), guitarist Ant Law (Jason Rebello), pianist Ivo Neame (Phronesis) and drummer Saleem Raman (Julia Biel).
