Matthew Ruddick-Kind of Jazz

Simone Craddock's varied career has taken her across her native Australia, Asia, America and Europe, where she is now residing in London as a vocalist and songwriter. She is acclaimed by critics and peers alike and performs regularly in some of the capital's best regarded venues, including Upstairs at Ronnie Scotts, Cadogan Hall, Pizza Express and Live at Zedel.

Abroad, she has performed to full houses at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, Palais de Festival in Cannes, Kursaal Theatre in Belgium, Lyric Theatre in Hong Kong and most recently, the Yacht Club de Monaco and Grimaldi Forum in Monte Carlo.

Simone's style and repertoire emerge from an eclectic musical upbringing in jazz, country, brass & big bands, with a sprinkling of blues and soul. Whilst her passion for jazz was originally fired by the classics; Sarah Vaughan, Nancy Wilson, Ray Charles and her namesake Nina Simone, she continues to be inspired by contemporary artists, including Dave Matthews Band, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Melody Gardot and Amy Winehouse.

Simone's original compositions emerge from these influences and the experiences that have shaped her on her journey thus far. Also a respected West End leading actress, Simone has played the largest theatres in the UK & Asia with shows such as Dirty Dancing, Annie, Jesus Christ Superstar and Hello Dolly! As a voiceover artist, Simone is best affiliated with award-winning children's programmes, "Bottersnikes & Gumbles" and "Captain Flinn & the Pirate Dinosaurs" for ABC, Channel 7 & 9 Australia. She has appeared as a guest soloist with the West End Gospel Choir and is a founding member of three part harmony groups, The Girls From Oz and The Blige Sisters. Simone is currently writing original songs for her debut album, due for release in 2018.
