Daniel Thomas and Jason Thompson (the JT Band) have a combined total of over 50 years of performing in the music industry. Daniel Thomas, (host), is an in-demand vocal coach and musician - both in the UK and Europe. His roots stem from a church background and he has gone onto work with esteemed artistes such as Luther Vandross, Elton John, James Brown, Cher, Beverley Knight, Mariah Carey, Girls Aloud, Peter Andre, Blue and Boy George and many other artistes. As an artiste in his own right, he was signed to Ministry of Sound and had a #3 hit in 1999, among many other club releases. Along with his extensive work as a gospel choir director, Daniel is a featured vocalist on many recordings. He has been playing keyboards and singing since he was 5 years – so many, many years of experience. He is multi-faceted, multi-dimensional and abundantly creative. This is The Daniel Thomas Experience! In the words of the late great James Brown, as he was describing Daniel:

Jason Thompson, the MD of the JT Band, has had a star-studded career that has taken him around the globe to over 25 countries – travelling to countries throughout Europe, America, the West Indies, Asia and Africa. His main musical influences stem from a church background and he has successfully straddled the worlds of Jazz, Blues, Pop, R&B, Classical and Gospel music in his pursuit of musical excellence. Jason’s talents include composing, arranging, choir directing, piano tutoring, vocal training, session singing, workshop leading and music production. He has taught the piano for over 25 years – with 100% pass rate (ABRSM).

Jason has had the pleasure of playing for artistes such as Womack and Womack, Ashford and Simpson, Boney M, Rose Royce, Caron Wheeler (Soul II Soul), Peobo Bryson, James Ingram, Ruby Turner, Mica Paris and Edwin Hawkins (Oh Happy Day).

The showcase on 30th June includes the incomparable Beverley Skeete and the unparalleled Faye Simpson.

Beverley started her professional music career recording and releasing singles. Her voice created a stir at a time when most soul singers came from America. DJ's such as Robbie Vincent and Tony Blackburn supported her and played her records, gaining her a reputation as a singer to be respected. She performed on Top Of The Pops in 1992 and has worked with artistes such as Chaka Khan, Benny King, Barry White, Dusty Springfield, Mick Hucknall, Dave Gilmore, Will Young and the Eurythmics. Beverley has sung on albums for Elton John and Tina Turner and her voice is featured in films such as Evita, The Beloved (starring Oprah Winfrey), and most recently The Hitman’s Bodyguard, with Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds.

Faye received a gospel award from Capital Radio for Best Female Gospel Artist, while she was still in her teens. Whilst in the group Nu Colours, she toured with Take Six and Bebe & Cece Winans. Nu Colours sang on the soundtrack for the film Four Weddings & A Funeral. Faye has also toured the world with Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Mary Mary, Annie Lennox, Jamiroquai, Mica Paris, Sir Cliff Richard and Will Young. She sung on the soundtrack for the motion picture, Alfie and sung on recordings with, the Brand New Heavies, Paula Abdul, Boy George, Gabriel, Omar, Mica Paris and Jazz guitarist, Ronny Jordan. She currently runs a vocal mentoring programme for established recording artistes, including Rita Ora and Lauren Murray.
