Saxophonist, guitarist, percussionist, songwriter and founding member of the world-famous Spandau Ballet, Steve Norman brings his own band 'The Sleevz' to PizzaExpress Live at Holborn and will be performing a ‘festival set’ including the hit singles and classic album tracks. Spandau Ballet sold over 25 million records worldwide and had 23 hit singles including 'To Cut a Long Story Short', 'Only When You Leave', 'Chant No 1', 'Lifeline', 'True', 'Gold' and 'Through The Barricades'.

The band performed at the Live Aid concert at Wembley Stadium in 1985 and appeared on Band Aid’s Christmas classic “Do They Know It’s Christmas”. In 2009 Spandau Ballet reunited and undertook the worldwide ‘Reformation Tour’ including 3 sold out shows at the O2 Arena in London. In October that year they released their new album ‘Once More’ with the title track co-written by Steve. A sixty-five date world tour with Spandau Ballet followed in 2015 with the final show in Hong Kong. Steve started playing shows with his 5-piece band “The Sleevz” in 2017 with a string of SOLD OUT shows in London and other European cities.

By the third Spandau Ballet album not only did Steve bring his love of percussion to the mix but also introduced the saxophone which has since become his signature instrument. Steve wrote and played one of the most iconic and recognizable saxophone solos in history of pop music on the band’s No. 1 smash hit “True”.

Over the years Steve toured the globe with Spandau Ballet and in 1985 he appeared at Live Aid at Wembley Stadium.

In 2014 the band released a documentary about themselves and 1980s culture more broadly, Soul Boys of the Western World, followed by a Top 10 “The Story – The Very Best of Spandau Ballet” album and another sold-out world tour in 2015.

Besides his activities with Spandau Ballet, Steve is also a singer and songwriter. In 2017 he started playing solo shows across Europe accompanied by his 5-piece band. His set includes brand-new solo material, Spandau Ballet classics and songs that influenced his musical career. His so-called “Pop Up Tour” is hugely popular, rewarded him with sold-out shows and solidified his standing as a singer and solo performer.

As a multi-instrumentalist and passionate music lover Steve is highly respected by fellow musicians. His vita shows an impressive selection of legendary artists he played for and sang with: Iggy Pop, Tony Visconti, Marc Almond, Steve Harley, The Alarm, Glen Matlock, Kim & Marty Wilde, Martin Fry, Bruce Foxton and Glenn Gregory to name a few, as well as with former David Bowie musicians such as Earl Slick, Mike Garson, Gail Anne Dorsey and Woody Woodmansey.
