PizzaExpress Live (Holborn)

PizzaExpress Live is very proud to launch a new series of stand-up comedy shows in our Holborn venue. Performers are drawn from the very best UK club comedians - many of whom are award-winners. Each night will feature three great performers. Whether you've come to see someone in particular or are just curious to see a comedy show, every one of the comedians we are presenting is hugely experienced and has sold out shows in their own right.

Rob Auton: "His absurd brand of stand-up and poetry is exactly what the country needs right now" - Huffington Post

"Ellis sets such a cracking pace... he flits around the audience with his frisky, easy banter spreading a feeling of good-humoured fun." - Chortle

Susan Riddell
After winning a place in BBC Writer’s Room Fast and Funny, Susan Riddell went on to write, create and star in several on-line comedy sketches for BBC Short Stuff which have garnered nearly 3 million views and counting. Susan recently performed stand up at the Edinburgh Fringe in both CKP’s Lunchtime Special and the BBC Presents Comedy Tent. She also wrote a humorous weekly column for The Daily Record newspaper for around two years. Other writing credits and acting roles include C4 and BBC’s Ones spoof cop show Scot Squad. She is currently working on a sitcom pilot with the BBC and is a regular on topical BBC radio panel show Breaking the News.

Rob Auton
Award winning stand-up comedian and poet Rob Auton (Dave͛s Funniest Joke Of The Fringe award winner, Glastonbury͛s ͚Poet In Residence͛) returns with another heart-felt and offbeat comedy/theatre/spoken word show that explores hair and hairs. Alongside performing solo, Rob hosts ͞the best poetry gig in the UK͟ (The Times) Bang Said The Gun. The spoken-word night͛s raucous and anarchic spirit attracts a rich mix of new talent and some of the most established names in poetry/music including Kate Tempest, Roger MCGough and John Hegley.

Phil Ellis
Phil Ellis is an award winning comedian who has entertained audiences of all ages with his amalgamation of off-beat observational material and physical comedy. Solidifying his reputation in 2014 with his undisputed anarchic sleeper hit of a show Funz and Gamez, Phil won the Fosters Edinburgh Comedy Award͛s panel prize. After meeting incredible critical acclaim, Funz and Gamez was broadcast as part of BBC Radio 4͛s Fresh from the Fest, as well as part of BBC Comedy Feeds (BBC Three). The show went on to have an 18-show run at the Soho theatre, slots at all major comedy festivals, as well as a further run at the Udderbelly on Southbank. Phil͛s most recent Edinburgh show, Phil Ellis is Alone Together (But Mostly Alone) (2016) continued this success. Phil͛s TV appearances include Drunk History: UK (Comedy Central), as well as writing and performing credits on BBC Three͛s The Tapeface Tapes.
