Take Five Presents: Luca, Johanna Burnheart & tyroneisaacstuart

Take Five is an annual talent development mentorship programme, run by Serious which works with 8 jazz musicians from across the UK and Ireland. The programme is designed to equip artists with knowledge to help them with the next steps of their careers through online workshops, year- round mentorship and guidance from specialists in the music industry. The participants take part in an artistic residency in the Cotswolds, musically led by composer and saxophonist Jason Yarde. This year the residency featured movement sessions led by movement director Coral Messam, and musical collaboration sessions working on each other's compositions which led to a final performance at the end of the residency.

Luca

Luca Manning blends the sounds of Jazz, Alt Pop and Faerie Folk to create ethereal transcendent lullabies and visceral sonic responses to the messy navigation of the human experience. Introduced as a ‘relatively mysterious artist’ by Mary Anne Hobbs (BBC Radio 6 music), Luca remains a provocative and experimental artist who is deeply committed to asking more questions than providing answers.

Johanna Burnheart

Johanna Burnheart is a German violinist, singer and composer.

After studying classical violin, piano and voice during childhood, Johanna’s musical focus developed into jazz. Rather than following the path expected of a classical violinist, she chose instead to pursue the music that was her passion.


Since forming her own band “Burnheart” at the end of 2018, Johanna has performed at jazz re:freshed, Spice of Life, Jazz in the Round and the Jazz Café with this project; the latter being an event presented by jazz re:freshed called “The Sounds of 2020”.

tyroneisaacstuart

tyroneisaacstuart is an interdisciplinary, concept driven artist whose skills originate from Jazz and Hip-Hop Theatre.
Born, raised and residing in East London, tyroneisaacstuart is an interdisciplinary artist who originated from Jazz and Hip-Hop Theatre, honing his skills as saxophonist with Tomorrow’s Warriors while also dancing with Boy Blue Entertainment.

He has worked with top tier artists such as Far From The Norm, Boy Blue Entertainment, Hofesh Shechter Company, Nora Chipaumire, Soweto Kinch, Moses Boyd, Theon Cross, Cassie Kinoshi, Mark Kavuma & Kokoroko.
