Event Has Passed

Last Show: Thursday 14 th February 2019

PizzaExpress Jazz Club (Soho)

Tammy will feature her favorite songs of love from some of her favorite artists; such as Sarah Vaughan, Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday and Julie London along with surprise covers and originals. A fine Canadian-born singer Tammy Weis has been working in London for more than a decade, during which time both her performances and her writing have moved her to the forefront of the UK jazz scene. Her latest CD “Where I Need To Be”, features her excellent original material written with Grammy Award-winning producer Terry Britten and pianist Tom Cawley, with one of her co-writes from that album “Everyone But Me”, being included on an album produced by Michael Bublé. Jamie Cullum, Bobby McFerrin, and Randy Bachman are just a few of the high-profile artists with whom she has performed and another of her songs were recorded by an “American Idol” finalist for his CD.

"Isn't she great! Now there's a vocalist"

Michael Bublé

With a musical background that encompasses a wide variety of styles, her wonderful sound and approach integrate her rich and diverse influences into a unique and captivating whole. Accompanying her this evening will be her standout band: Tom Cawley on piano Julie Walkington on bass and Dave Ohm on drums.

Tammy Weis is a true Singer-Songwriter. Technically brilliant vocals delivering her poignant lyrics straight to my soul. Her live performance of "Found Your Way to Me" at Jazz FM actually moved me to tears. Remember her name!
