Especially formed for this evening in store at Dean Street Pizza Express, this ferociously swinging unit brings together three award winning jazz musicians from different corners of the contemporary jazz scene & beyond. Dave Newton's multi award-winning jazz piano mastery is very much to the fore of this dynamic super group underpinned by propulsive swing and lightening empathy delivered by Matt Skelton and Conor Chaplin. The trio will present original arrangements revealing a shared admiration for the piano trios of yore such as Oscar Peterson and Ray Brown contrasted with breathtaking lush ballad soundscapes.
Material from Dave's 2015 Linn release 'Big Screen Trio - Take 1' will also be featured.
