PizzaExpress Jazz Club (Soho)

Join The Dime Notes as they swing the roof off with their customary blues-drenched 20’s New Orleans jazz, and repertoire of stomps, blueses, and forgotten gems of the era. Featuring Chris Barber’s long-time clarinetist David Horniblow, U.S pianist and Morton specialist Andrew Oliver, and the unstoppable pulse of London’s knockout rhythm section, guitarist Dave Kelbie of Evan Christopher’s Django a la Creole fame, and bassist Louis Thomas.

"Inspired!" - Sunday Time (UK)

"Lovingly curated examples of great music from the ancestral repertoire of Jazz" - Jazz Da Gama (US)

Fronted by Chris Barber’s long-time clarinetist David Horniblow, an established figure on the European jazz stage and American pianist/composer/musicologist and Jelly Roll Morton specialist Andrew Oliver, a recent arrival to the UK, the band is anchored by the unstoppable pulse of London’s knockout rhythm section, guitarist Dave Kelbie, accompanist in Evan Christopher’s Django a la Creole, John Etheridge’s Sweet Chorus and bassist Tom Wheatley, well known across the international scene for his swing and versatility and in demand across many genre boundaries with his huge sound and stylistic versatility.

The Dime Notes present a fresh take on a timeless style, emphasising the propulsive grooves and sultry melodies which made early jazz revolutionary, controversial, and wildly popular.
