The Impellers are a 10-piece heavy funk and breaks collective from Brighton, UK, including a 4-piece horn section, searing Hammond organ and powerhouse sister-funk vocals. Since 2015, The Impellers have been concentrating on playing ‘Ultimate Breaks & Beats’ – those classic funk, soul and jazz tracks which have been sampled by, and formed the foundation of, hip hop, breakbeat and drum ‘n’ bass.

The Impellers have been playing these sets across the UK and Europe, including party sets at numerous summer festivals. They have shared stages with some of the finest funk, soul, hip-hop, jazz and scratch DJ talent from around the world. Their ever-expanding CV includes shows with Marva Whitney, Fred Wesley, Shuggie Otis, Martha Reeves, Breakestra, James Taylor Quartet, The Bamboos, Lack of Afro, Kid Koala, Hexstatic, Mr Thing (The Scratch Perverts) DJ Bizznizz (UK DMC Championships winner), DJ Vadim, Speedometer, Polar Bear, Part Time Heroes and The Nextmen.
