Germana Stella La Sorsa & Joe Boyle

Italian vocalist Germana Stella La Sorsa and bassist Joe Boyle started to collaborate in 2017 first developing the JiC - Jazz in Cinema - Project and soon moving into new and original material.

The compositions and arrangements of just voice and double bass creates interesting textures - from pensive openness to tense and dark - with prolific experimentation and freedom.

After relocating to London in the same year, Germana's unique talent was quickly recognised leading to performances at most of the main London jazz venues - such as the iconic Ronnie Scott's, Vortex Jazz Club, Toulouse Lautrec Jazz Club, Oliver's Jazz Bar and Kansas Smitty's.

The move to London inspired La Sorsa to compose new material and this creative impetus eventually led to the composition of much of the material on her debut album 'Vapour', released on the London based label 33 Jazz Records, and now available on all major platforms.

Joe Boyle discovered jazz, while he was a teenager and was given the opportunity to play in the Southampton Youth Jazz Orchestra, where he performed alongside such musicians as Courtney Pine and Ian Shaw as well as working with members of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra.

He has since gone on to play in the notable venues of the London jazz scene whilst working on his own music. His project - the Union - made it's debut at Ronnie Scott's in the summer of 2017, previewing his original compositions from his upcoming album "Welcome to the New World", due to be release in 2022.
