The Pheasantry (Chelsea)

Peter Borthwick makes a triumphant return to PizzaExpress with his band with a special evening of upbeat American Song Book hits including songs from his album This Moment co-produced and featuring Emmy award winning Orange Is the New Black star Lea DeLaria. With special guests.

"There are good things in the world. Last night it was Peter Borthwick, effortlessly singing his cool, suave jazz at the Pheasantry. Thank you!"

Peter Borthwick is one of London's top jazz performers with light and smooth vocal style reminiscent of Chet Baker and Mel Torme. Peter performs with his band a combination of swing, ballads and bossa novas with a great deal from the American Songbook.

The British born singer with a classical music background has been singing from a young age and is inspired by Cole Porter, Antonio Carlos Jobin, Michel Legrand and Harry Connick Jr. His jazz career began when asked to sing in a small restaurant in Chiswick and then became a regular performer at some of London's private party nights before setting up his own band.

Peter works with acclaimed pianist and arranger Janette Mason. He has performed sell out nights at Pizza Express jazz club on Dean Street, upstairs at Ronnie Scotts, and loves to duet with other jazz and soul performers.

Peter's latest album, This Moment is co-produced by Emmy award-winning Orange is The New Black star Lea DeLaria and Janette Mason. It includes a mix of timeless Latin-flavoured brassy songs featuring world class saxophonist Alan Barnes.
