The Pucciarelli Group

Event Has Passed

Last Show: Saturday 25 th May 2019

PizzaExpress Jazz Club (Soho)

The Pucciarelli Group features recent graduates of The Guildhall School of Music, some of whom are rapidly becoming ‘musicians to look out for' within the London and British Jazz scene. Such members include Sam Knight (Tenor Saxophone), Ed Rice (Piano), Ed Ireland (Bass), Jack Yardley (Drums) and Giuseppe Pucciarelli (Guitar). The Pucciarelli Group will present their release ‘Feel Free To Feel Free’, an excellent album that reminds of the finest music of Kenny Wheeler, John Taylor, Keith Jarrett, Pat Metheny and Michael Brecker. The band, in fact, explores sounds that act as intermediary between European and American Jazz. A concert not to be missed.

Giuseppe Pucciarelli is a jazz guitarist and composer.
He has been playing the guitar since the age of five when his father bought him a classical guitar for his birthday. From the age of 10, Pucciarelli received classical guitar lessons. A few years later, keen to further his expertise in advanced jazz improvisation and composition, he moved to London for studying at the Guildhall School of Music where he had the privilege of being the student of John Parricelli, Mark Lockhart, Malcom Edmonstone, Stuart Hall, Martin Hathaway, Scott Stroman, to name but a few.

Pucciarelli’s high level of motivation let him record his first original album ‘Shall We Say It Is Worth” at the age of 23. His new album is entitled 'Feel Free To Feel Free' (2019) and sees him expand the group from Quartet to Quintet.
Joining him on his latest musical journey are Ed Rice(Piano), Ed Ireland (bass), Sam Knight (Saxophone) and Jack Yardley (Drums).
