PizzaExpress Live in partnership with the Hampstead Jazz Club and Lateralize Records proudly present Oliver Darley with Chad Lelong. “A voice that could sing the angels to sleep and wake the devil from his bed.” Ray Charles Following a rapturously received sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe, Oliver Darley and pianist, Chad Lelong will be unveiling their hugely-anticipated new album - The Seat With The Clearest View – with an exclusive one-off performance in the intimate surroundings of PizzaExpress Live (Holborn). Featuring the songs of David Bowie as you’ve never heard them before, the album is due for release on London-based jazz label, Lateralize Records.

Accompanied by the virtuosic jazz pianist, Chad Lelong, Darley dives deep beneath the surface of some of Bowie’s most iconic songs in his own inimitable style, stripping each one down to its bare essentials, shining new light through old windows. Covering every era of the Starman’s chameleonic career from Space Oddity and Life On Mars? all the way through to Slip Away and Where Are We Now?, The Seat With The Clearest View is an achingly beautiful, astonishingly adventurous album that will melt the hearts of Bowie fans the world over.

This special show will be introduced by David Bowie’s former publicist, Jonathan Wingate, Executive Producer of the album: “Although numerous artists have interpreted David’s songs over the years, only a handful have ever truly left their own indelible stamp on them. I was mesmerised when I heard The Seat With The Clearest View for the first time. Oliver Darley and Chad Lelong have somehow managed to cover completely uncharted musical terrain with these songs, so they’re reassuringly familiar and yet utterly unlike anything fans would ever expect.”
