Drawn together from across the British Isles on a journey from London - Birmingham - Glasgow TROPE’s musical influences stretch much further afield. They started out life reworking and pulling around the music of Stevie Wonder, playing their debut at Mostly Jazz Funk & Soul Festival before the mighty Nile Rodgers & Chic. They have since gone on to create 'Butterflies & Dragons' their first EP of original music, a heady mix of Soul, Jazz and Hip Hop. A mission, not only to pull together their own influences, but craft their own sound and style has seen comparisons being made to the likes of Hiatus Kaiyote, Brotherly and Heritage Orchestra.

They have been featured on BBC Introducing, made the Bandcamp New & Notable Records section and were recently nominated for 'Best New Artist' alongside The Internet, Dayme Arocena and Kamasi Washington at the 2016 JAJ Awards in Japan.

In 2017 TROPE released their second album '5ive' with Jazz:refreshed which they are currently touring across the UK. This has been featured on JazzFM and BBC3's Jazz Now program and this year will also see them open for funk heavyweights Brand New Heavies and Incognito. TROPE are currently preparing some brand new music for 2018 so watch this space!
