Following successful shows from Binker Golding, Mark Kavuma, Cykada and many more, Heads Up returns with two of the finest emerging bands on the London jazz scene. Jazz drummer Will Cleasby is part of a number of projects and bands including Judi Jackson, the Kansas Smitty’s House Band and Kavuma and the Banger Factory with whom he’s played at Ronnie Scott’s, the Vortex, Cadogan Hall, the Barbican, Purcell Room, Union Chapel and Shoreditch Town Hall as part of the London Jazz Festival. Nye Banfield is a fast-rising, ambitious jazz saxophonist, composer and bandleader based in South East London. He recorded, produced, mixed and self-released his debut EP ‘All Change’ in October 2018 which takes inspiration from jazz greats Wayne Shorter, Miles Davis and Ambrose Akinmusire, as well as drawing on aspects of hip-hop and classical music. Nye's gripping, intense live band create an experience not to be missed.
