1919: The Weimar Republic is born from chaos and resistance, ushering in a new era of creativity amidst the turbulence.

2022: It is said that history repeats itself, firstly as tragedy and secondly as farce.

Following a sold-out run at the Barbican Art Gallery and a Weimar performance for Bono and Chris Martin, the “cabaret kings” (The Londonist) return with more Songs of Resistance -  revisiting the satirical songs of the Berlin Cabarets, protest songs from across the globe, Charles Aznavour, Astor Piazzolla and more and fusing cabaret with world music. Award-winning actor and singer William Ludwig and West End MD Dean Austin arrive at the The Pheasantry following a series of sold-out concerts in 2021.

"cabaret kings William Ludwig and Dean Austin - both accomplished musicians and showmen"

Londonist

Dean is a West End Musical Director, William a screen and stage actor (most recently working on a new Spielberg/Hanks series) and they meet in the middle to devise and perform cabaret shows around the music of Weimar Berlin and tango songs. They have performed, amongst others, at the Ruhrfestival in Germany, Edinburgh Festival, GREC in Barcelona, Don’t Tell Mama in New York (MAC-nominated) and Crazy Coqs and The Pheasantry in London. The Londonist called them “the cabaret kings”.
