Xantoné Blacq & Patches Stewart Band

Event Has Passed

Last Show: Friday 13 th September 2019

PizzaExpress Live (Holborn)

The band will take you on a time loop through the history of Black Music and with over 100 years of live music performance between them, they know how to create mayhem on stage and really entertain their audience. Patches Stewart is part of the generation who took the original Funk, Jazz and Soul prototype and with his trumpet exploded it into a thousand fresh fragments; Jazz Funk, Jazz Rock, Soul Funk and so many more. Through his work with Quincy Jones, Al Jarreau, Marcus Miller and many others, Patches has left a serious fingerprint on modern music history. Xantoné Blacq completes the loop. Born in Lagos, Nigeria his roots are from Africa, which is where all black music begins. As part of the generation after Patches, his Vocals, Keyboards and Percussion playing is a fusion of the new and the old; the Funk and Africa. No stranger to the big stage, he was Amy Winehouse’s keyboard player and has shared the stage with Randy Brecker, Lionel Loueke and Mark Ronson to name a few. This already internationally successful show is set to tear up the stage in London.
