An Evening with Xsara

PizzaExpress Live (Holborn)

Half Egyptian, quarter Swedish, singer-songwriter XSARA (pronounced Ex-sar-ruh) has played her cabaret inspired theatrical blues on the live circuit for years, having been played on BBC Introducing eight times and praised by a number of publications including Q magazine, The Unsigned Guide, and Computer Music Magazine and previously played at Latitude Festival. When performing, her piano is festooned with flowers and her six-piece band comprised of a brass trio blends elements of cabaret, jazz and blues creating a cocktail of harsh vocals, sarcastic lyrics and theatre full of energy. We are happy to host Xsara's last show in this genre as she is departing into the electronic genre performing under a different format. for all her future shows

"With a distinctive voice and fresh twist, XSARA stopped us in our tracks. 100% catchy and one to watch." - BBC Introducing

"...quirky for sure but it has character and individuality which is all too rare these days." - Computer Music Magazine

XSARA spent her younger years of childhood in Mississippi influenced by the Blues running around barefoot, going to an all African-Caribbean school. She moved to England, where she found her musical calling and an English accent. She learnt the flute classically, discovered a talent for singing and taught herself how to play the piano.

XSARA has released 5 times with three releases available to buy online now. Her new album ALIEN is out in 2018.

XSARA also hosts an award-winning weekly radio show 'Shoreditch Unsigned' on Shoreditch Radio promoting unsigned, independent and DIY music from the UK.
