The prize, given by The Worshipful Company of Musicians, is awarded annually to an exceptionally talented young British-based jazz musician, chosen by the voting audience present at the gig, which is held annually at Pizza Express Jazz Club, Soho.

The Winner receives the Company’s coveted medal, a cash prize and the opportunity for the band of his/her choice to perform as part of the Company’s jazz programme within the year.
