The prize, given by The Musicians’ Company, is awarded annually to an exceptionally talented young British-based jazz musician, chosen by the voting audience present at the gig, which is held annually at PizzaExpress Jazz Club, Soho. The Winner receives the Company’s coveted medal, £1,000 prize and the opportunity for the band of his/her choice to perform as part of the Company’s jazz programme.

From over 50 nominations, from many of the UK’s leading jazz musicians, the Company’s Jazz Committee selected six of the most outstanding young artists.  

The Finalists in this year’s competition are: Matyas Gayer, Emma Rawicz, Fergus Quill, Jas Kayser, Alexandra Ridout and Sam Norris.
