Sandra-Mae Lux was born to be a star performer. By her high school years in Canada, she was already a seasoned performer in jazz and concert bands on saxophone and, after graduating high school with honours, she achieved a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies on Saxophone with a Minor in Education from Capilano University. Sandra-Mae has received multiple awards such as Outstanding Achievement in Music five years in a row and the Phil Nimmons Scholarship for Outstanding Achievement in Jazz.
Sandra-Mae was invited to perform at the Ottawa International Jazz Festival two years in a row, where she met and shared a stage with many internationally recognized artists such as Robert Glasper, Joe Lovano, Roy Hargrove, Herbie Hancock, Joshua Redman, Christian McBride and opened for Dave Brubeck. After a few more years in Vancouver playing with many different bands, Sandra-Mae began to extend her reach to multiple musical styles including pop, R&B, Brazillian, EDM and her true love, 70's Soul and Disco Music.
Moving to London, England in 2017 to concentrate on writing her first album “Happily Ever Now” Sandra-Mae continues not only to be a creative musical dynamo, but also an acting and voice acting performer of note, appearing in multiple roles as part of the cast of Audible's “Aliens – Sea of Sorrows” and Neil Gaiman's “Sandman” audio dramas performing alongside James McAvoy, Andy Serkis, John Lithgow, Michael Sheen and more. The Sandman made it to #1 on the New York Times Best Seller’s List.
With the release of her debut album, she made it to #14 on the UK Soul Chart, #11 on the Global Soul Chart and was nominated as Best UK Artist in the 2020 Bright Star Awards. The album had significant airplay, including on Gilles Peterson's show on BBC 6, Craig Charles on BBC 2, Mi-Soul, Solar, CBC Radio 1(Canada), Starpoint, and many of the BBC regionals. Sandra-Mae was also nominated as Jazz Artist of the Year in the Boisdales Music Awards presented by Jools Holland.
Her 2022 single (and debut as producer) “You Me and Tomorrow” made it to #3 on the UK Soul Chart.

She lives in South London with lots of plants, a disco ball, and many feathered masks.
