Twinnie

Twinnie walks the line between dissimilar worlds. A real-world traveler with a gypsy heart and a storyteller’s soul she delivers vibrant lyrics and effervescent melodies on her BBR Music Group debut EP Welcome To The Club.

“In a society that profits from your self-doubt, liking yourself is a rebellious act,” she said.

Unpretentious and unapologetic, Twinnie is a fresh voice for the outliers. A multifaceted performer, she has created a musical refuge for people on the fringe where everyone is welcome, respected, and celebrated. At this club, no one is left standing behind a velvet rope.

“It is a call to action,” explained Twinnie, which is a family name, but also colloquial for “best friends”. “It tells my story, but it is also about creating a place for people to feel safe and be authentically themselves. No one can tell your truth like you can.”

Twinnie learned early what it meant to be marginalized and how music could transcend stereotypes. Her father was a Romany gypsy and her mother was a hard-working, traditional English mum. The oldest of four children growing up in rural Yorkshire in a traveling caravan, she was the scrappy, school-yard defender who became a passionate advocate for equality and inclusion as an artist and successful businesswoman.

Welcome To The Club is the next step in her creative and personal evolution. A first-time collaboration between domestic BBR and international parent company BMG Rights Management. Twinnie co-produced and co-wrote all the cuts on the project, which follows the UK success of her No. 1 Hollywood Gypsy, which was released in early 2020 and became a mainstay at Radio 2, with three playlisted singles and an Album of the Week accolade. The project was equally well received by critics including The Times and the Daily Telegraph, which stated in its four-star review that it “calls to mind the 1990s anthems of Shania Twain, with a shot of Taylor Swift pop craft and a backstory that could give Wild Rose a run for its money.”

If Hollywood Gypsy was about bridging cultural divides, Welcome To The Club is an evocative look at intimacy, regret, and redemption told by an artist who is as dutifully honest and self-aware as her musical mainstays – Twain, Swift, and Dolly Parton.

Welcome To The Club, “is a metaphor for welcome to the world and all that you may experience – the heartbreak, the doubt, the joy, and the frustrations of life. I wanted to bring people together with a message of inclusivity – especially with so much dividing us in current years,” she said. “I don’t think I’m alone in feeling like the outsider and it took years to figure out you don’t have to choose a side. You don’t have to be anything other than yourself. You are enough.

Robbie Cavanagh

A self confessed devotee of 'real music', Robbie Cavanagh is not defined by genres. The only rules are good musicians, real instruments, great microphones and performance with emotion. Capturing sound, not producing it.  Robbie performs self penned, unscrubbed tales of heartbreak, loss, love and discovery, and when he puts pen to paper, he lives by his own words. 'The more you wrestle with an idea, the more contrived it becomes'. Robbie writes with honesty, emotion, and most importantly; instinct.

Robbie and his band have made their way onto many UK festival stages including Black Deer, Maverick, The British Country Music Festival, BlueDot, Cornbury, Wilderness, Buckle and Boots, and Silverstone Woodlands, and have performed prolifically around the UK, Europe and USA alongside such artists as Jarrod Dickenson, Aaron Lee Tasjan, The Deslondes, The Wandering Hearts, Beth Nielson Chapman, Mary Gauthier, Jaimee Harris, Robert Vincent, James House, Ferris & Silvester, Wildwood Kin, Max Jury, Whitney Rose, Amelia White, Us The Duo, Jace Everett.

2022 will see Robbie release his much anticipated 3rd record ‘Tough Love’. Recorded live at Studiowz in Pembrokeshire alongside his backing band: Thomas Dibb, Dan Wiebe, Roberto Ruiz, Joe Harvey Whyte and Abby Gundersen, ‘Tough Love’ is a departure from the last record ‘To Leave/To Be Left’ as the cries for help and desperation are exchanged for a much more independent attitude. Cavanagh sees the record as a letter to himself With lyrics such as ‘If you’re thinking of leaving, get up and go’ and ’Tough love, get over yourself, it doesn’t have to be you’. Even more appropriate having suffered a significant break up halfway through the recording process.

The release of Tough Love will coincide with a UK tour and a run of summer festivals.
