The late jazz legend Sir John Dankworth predicted “a very bright future with Atila’s name eventually ending up in lights” and still in his early thirties, Atila has gone on to establish himself as one of Britain’s most exciting vocal talents. A strong, confident performer, Atila began singing at the age of 15 with local big band Young Jazz, and in 2002 was invited to work with the UK National Youth Jazz Orchestra. He has since performed live nationwide and overseas to great acclaim with the BBC Concert Orchestra, BBC Big Band, John Wilson Orchestra, Nelson Riddle Orchestra, Syd Lawrence Orchestra, Gordon Campbell Big Band and others…Tonight the trio will be performing the work of the Nat King Cole Trio.

A special show featuring Chet's most famous standards, his own compositions and new works by Sue inspired by his life. Weaving through the music are anecdotes about Chet, whose sweet music was such a contrast to his troubled life in a narrative which actress and theatre director Sylvia Syms has helped to craft. As well as this biographical retrospective the quintet also perform some of the repertoire from the best of Baker's work with Gerry Mulligan, whose baritone is recreated by award-winning saxophonist Karen Sharp.
