PizzaExpress Jazz Club (Soho)

Jazz/soul singer Cecilia Stalin is finally celebrating her 3rd full length album 'I.Am' (Step Like A Giant Music) with a vinyl release party! You’ve heard Cecilia’s voice before with nu-jazz duo KOOP, or on Max Factor ads, or perhaps at EFG London Jazz Festival stages. Cecilia has performed her own live shows at The Barbican, Love Supreme, Ronnie Scott's, Royal Festival Hall and Queen Elisabeth Hall. She has opened for Gregory Porter, and has toured China, Brazil, USA and Sweden, and has also found time to work with pop artists like The Streets, Alicia Dixon, Cinematic Orchestra, Omar, and to record in collaboration with Jazzanova’s Alex Bark, Bugz In The Attic's and Daz-I-Kue. Cecilia has written for Max Factor and has had music out on labels like Compost, Wagram, Jazz FM and Universal Music. Her critically acclaimed 2012 album 'Step like a giant' was a celebration of John Coltrane's music, and she soon after started her own label Step Like a Giant Music.

"You got some crackers there!"

Joe Theophilus (Agent for Thundercat)

I.Am is an 8 song album and it features some incredible songs, musicians and artwork with contributors from all over the world from Joe Armon-Jones in London to Michele Limma (Ed Motta) in Sao Paulo to Soldan Bertrand in Mauritius.

She said: 'The album is about exploring the many layers of me and my deepest darkness and light and acknowledging how important it is to be honest and open about where you are and feel. My inspiration for this album is most definitely from Brazil where people are blunt, openly expressing the tru facts of their difficulties and it's been so inspiring to see artists of all artforms take space and get seen’.

Get ready for a groovy evening of jazz! Vinyl will be sold and signed on the night.
