Dominic Alldis is a jazz pianist & vocalist renowned for his interpretation of classic songs from the Great American Songbook. He came to prominence in the 1980s as resident pianist at Pizza on the Park where he appeared alongside some of the world's leading jazz and cabaret entertainers, including Blossom Dearie, Steve Ross, Adelaide Hall, Dave Frishberg, Bob Dorough, Julie Wilson and Mark Murphy. Since then he has performed regularly at The Pheasantry and Pizza Express Jazz Club, establishing himself as a leading exponent of New York-style “supper-club” jazz. He has recorded jazz-vocal albums with contemporary arrangements of songs by Bill Evans, Noel Coward and Michel Legrand, as well as jazz arrangements of familiar nursery rhymes for piano trio and orchestra. In 2012 he formed the Dominic Alldis Trio with bassist Andrew Cleyndert and drummer Martin France to perform jazz interpretations of classical themes, nursery rhymes and folk songs. Since 1991 he has taught jazz and improvisation to classical singers and pianists at the Royal Academy of Music, and has written several tutor books. He is an Honorary Associate of the Royal Academy of Music and a Steinway Artist.
