Gypsy Tango Cabaret brings together a programme of Piaf Chansons, Tangos and    popular songs from Moscow to Buenos Aires.  Soprano Ann Liebeck also sings Hungarian inspired gypsy operetta songs which reveal the close relationship of much popular music of the 1930's, 40's and 50's.The artists recently completed a successful run at Wiltons Music Hall with Violetta’s Last Tango and are well known on the European tango jazz music scene. Julian Rowlands and Tom Mason are members of Tango Siempre and appeared in the Olivier nominated  West End show Midnight Tango. Julian can be heard regularly performing Argentine Tango on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.

Opera and Tango singer Ann Liebeck sings tonight with two of the UK’s most well-known tango musicians Julian Rowlands and Tom Mason. Julian and Tango Siempre composed the score for Olivier-nominated show Midnight Tango which toured the UK and Ireland nationally over three years, and he is regularly seen on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing and in the West End. Ann’s international career has taken her all to major theatres all over Europe and to the USA .She has been singing and dancing tango in her own show Violetta’s Last Tango at prestige venues such as Southbank Centre, Wiltons Music Hall and National Concert Hall Dublin over the last five years. Julian wrote many of the arrangements for the show and has arranged all the music to be performed this evening. All the musicians continue to explore the cultural traditions which inspire the popular music of the 1930’s, 40’s and 50’s.Julian regularly tours the UK with Tango Siempre and composing credits also include the play ‘Flying into Daylight’ by  Emmy Award winner Ron Hutchinson.The artists are currently planning a Latin Music Festival in July 2018 at the newly refurbished Southbankcentre.
