While studying at Trinity Laban Conservatoire he received the Improvisation award two years running and was a finalist in Sibelius Composer of the Year. He has been fortunate enough to play alongside the likes of Jeff Ballard, Perico Sambeat and Mark Turner. Furthermore Harry was proud to have been mentored by the late, great John Taylor for 4 years. Since graduating he toured the UK with the prestigious Clark Tracey Quintet for 3 years during which time he recorded two albums which gained 5 stars in Jazzwise.
The youngest band leader to tour the world (twice) with his trio on the Queen Mary 2, Harry is much in demand at all of London’s main clubs, recently playing as far afield as “Smalls Jazz Club” in New York City and a selection of international jazz festivals. His debut album ‘Piece by Piece’ is forthcoming and will be followed by an extensive tour of the UK.
Harry is proud to be playing with:
Benet Mclean (Violin) Arguably one of the most bewilderingly adventurous and prominent jazz violinists currently in the UK. A true polymath: pianist, guitarist, vocalist, violinist, writer, arranger and producer who is on a musical journey that’s included such diverse adventures as receiving mentoring from Yehudi Menuhin at the Royal College of Music and touring with Brit-soul legend Omar.
Arnie Somogyi (Bass) is one of the UK's most in-demand bass players and has played on over 50 albums, including four as a leader. He has worked, recorded and performed with many of the world’s leading jazz musicians, as well as international stars including Tom Jones, Charlie Watts and Amy Winehouse.
Jonathan Silk (Drums) leads and composes for the Jonathan Silk Big Band 18-piece ensemble dedicated to performing his original composition. Since graduating with First Class honours, he has recorded two albums and is in much demand as a sideman both in Birmingham and London.
