After selling out their most recent shows at Ronnie Scotts and the Brighton Jazz Festival in 2021, Shades of Soul are extremely excited to welcome the powerful UK jazz fusion band, HOWES3, to PizzaExpress, Soho. With the release of their debut album in 2019 reaching over 2 million Spotify streams alone, the band's music has been supported by the likes of Jazz FM, Worldwide FM, Soho Radio as well as receiving a large amount of streams overseas. Starting out as a trio, they have more recently expanded to doing shows as a 5 and 6 piece band with the addition of a horn section and now a guitarist. HOWES3 will be bringing the full force of their 6 piece band to Soho for their debut at PizzaExpress before they plan to tour Europe, Australia and the US later in the year so this is a show not to be missed!

This exciting, Brighton-based, jazz funk/gospel fusion group were brought together through a mutual love of 70’s jazz funk, 80’s fusion, 90’s R’n’B, gospel, hip-hop and they cultivate a unique and powerful sound that has its roots in each genre. Blending smooth neo-soul progressions and utilising rich gospel harmony, sincere melodies and increasing levels of rhythmic freedom throughout, their music takes you on a feel-good journey through their collective influences.

In 2019 the band supported jazz-fusion legend, Billy Cobham, for two consecutive sold-out shows at the Jazz Cafe (Camden, London), as well as supporting Taylor Mcferrin at Oslo (Hackney, London). Following their earlier appearances at Jazz Re:Freshed (Mau Mau Bar, Nottinghill, London), Love Supreme Festival (Glynde), Southbank Centre (Lambeth, London), Soundcrash Funk & Soul Weekender (Brighton), Wild Paths Festival (Norwich) and now added to the line-up of many well-known festivals and events throughout the year, HOWES3 are a welcome addition to the new and exciting resurgence of jazz-influenced music in the UK.
