Howl Quartet, formed by old friends and collaborators (saxophonists Harry Brunt and Dan Smith, drummer Matt Parkinson and bassist Pete Komor), is a co-led quartet that emerged in 2017 through a collective passion for improvisation and composition. Taking inspiration from artists such as Endangered Blood, Claudia Quintet and Brian Blade, there is an innate freedom and intensity to their music, bearing all from the calm and reflective to the outright wild. Tonight they are celebrating the release of their second album, ‘Airglow’, premiering new compositions that have been under wraps until now.

Building on the success of their debut album ‘Life As We See It’, Howl Quartet are back with “Airglow’. Their second studio album is the result of pure escapism. The album came to life at Giant Wafer Studios in the middle of rural Wales - distanced from their hectic London lives these four accomplished and experienced jazz musicians present a reflective and refreshed statement on city life.

Howl Quartet features: Dan Smith (Alto Saxophone), Harry Brunt (Tenor Saxophone), Matt Parkinson (Drums) and Pete Komor (Double Bass). Between them the musicians have have played prestigious festivals and venues all over the world including, Langau Jazz Knights (Switzerland), La zorra y el cuervo (Cuba), Brecon Festival (Wales), London Jazz Festival, Festival Hall, Jazz Cafe and Buckingham Palace.
