“Both singers merged beautifully, the songs and their voices, to create a dynamic...and wonderful entertaining show” Jazz Leeds Blogspot

“Ian Shaw…my tears were real…you cannot download this” The Observer

Multi- award-winner, Ian Shaw, is one of the leading jazz artists of our time. Vocalist, pianist, composer, producer, presenter (Ronnie Scott’s international radio show), actor and comedian, Ian has appeared with: Quincy Jones, Abdullah Ibrahim, Cedar Walton, Claire Martin, Guy Barker, Liane Carroll, Cleo Laine and John Dankworth among many others. Following the success of The Theory of Joy (Harmonia Mundi 2016), Ian’s next recording, Shine Sister Shine, is currently in post production.

Ian and Georgia began collaborating 9 years ago. In that time they have played several major London and regional venues and City of London, Iford, North Devon and London Jazz Festivals. Ian was featured on Georgia’s albums Silhouette and Live at ReVoice! and Georgia one of the vocalists in Ian’s extravaganza ‘100 Years of British Song’ at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in 2014.

“[Mancio is] the archetype of a modern singer who can style-hop at will and produce…thoroughly musical and textually convincing versions of – er – anything” London Jazz

In 2015 Georgia accompanied Ian on one of his early stints as a volunteer in the Calais Jungle - the unofficial refugee camp. They have continued to work together whether in the field or raising awareness and funds. In the spirit of new friends made - and sometimes lost - during this global tragedy, tonight’s show reminds that we have more in common than that which divides us.
