PizzaExpress Live (Holborn)

PizzaExpress Live is very proud to launch a new series of stand-up comedy shows in our Holborn venue. Performers are drawn from the very best UK club comedians - many of whom are award-winners. Each night will feature three great performers. Whether you've come to see someone in particular or are just curious to see a comedy show, every one of the comedians we are presenting is hugely experienced and has sold out shows in their own right.

Rhys James: “Charismatic, clever and self aware… Destined for great things.”

The Guardian

Rhys James

Rhys James is an accomplished comedian, writer and actor. At 26 he has already made numerous TV appearances, on shows such as Mock The Week (BBC2), Russell Howard’s Stand Up Central (Comedy Central), Virtually Famous (E4), Sweat the Small Stuff (BBC3), @elevenish (ITV2) and many more. He has performed three solo shows at the Edinburgh fringe to complete sell-out audiences and critical acclaim, earning his 2017 show ‘Forgives’ a spot in the British Comedy Guide’s ‘Best Reviewed Shows of the Fringe’ list. His own Radio 4 series, ‘Rhys James is…’ will debut later this year. He is also known for his prolific Twitter feed which has been recommended in The Telegraph, The Sun, Huffington Post, The Poke and The Gentleman’s Journal among others.

Josh Pugh

Hot off winning the Midland New Act of the Year in 2014 and 2015, Josh Pugh rapidly shot to the upper echelons of UK stand-up, winning English Comedian of the Year 2016, only two years after playing his first gig. He also won the Funhouse Gong Show as well as the Best New Act prizes at both the 2015 Birmingham and Nottingham Comedy Festivals. Josh’s clever, original, and (most importantly) very funny writing and performing continues to bring in plaudits, from Chortle to the Londonist to the London Evening Standard, and he undoubtedly has a blindingly bright future.

Tom Toal

Tom Toal is a comedian, writer and actor, hailing from the South East London town of Bexleyheath. One of comedy's rising stars he performed his debut show On The Scrapheap about the break-up of his 6 year relationship at the Edinburgh and Leicester Festivals in 2010 achieving widespread acclaim and reviews. The follow up Rom-Coms and Revolutions followed in similar vein playing to a complete sell out audience for the full run.
