This new show, created with Cal McCrystal (Paddington; One Man, Two Guv’nors), is designed to have you singing and laughing along. Kate weaves powerful songs with stories about the human voice – from the legacy of her grandfather (voice of the nation) to mesmerising layered vocals from her critically acclaimed album Songbirds featuring the music of Simon & Garfunkel and Buddy Holly, George Michael, The Eurthymics, Ben E King and Peggy Lee. Using a looper, sitting on an ironing board, Kate reinvents this show daily with her audience. Joe Jacobs is a London based comedian, rapper and writer. Since 2012, he has performed nationally and internationally, sharing bills with acts including Bill Burr, Stewart Lee and Mr. Motivator. His live shows effortlessly flit between hip hop and comedy and he’s been seen/heard on Channel 4, BBC Radio 4, BBC 6 Music, Radio 1XTRA, plus gained millions of viral video views online. In 2017, Joe took Ripe to the Edinburgh Fringe where it received critical acclaim.
